Was born in Mexico City and grew up in Pachuca, Mexico, so he believes the place he truly belongs is in the scrub fields between one place and the other. He’s a media producer and scholar with a background in documentary, video production, and interdisciplinary research. He specializes in using film, sound, and time-based arts to explore post-colonial contexts, indigenous futurisms, and the climate crisis through participatory media, while leveraging extensive experience in media production across commercial and non-profit sectors.
He received a bachelor’s degree in Communication from UAM in Mexico City in 2016, and an MFA in Media Arts from SIU Carbondale in 2021, which he attended as a Fulbright-García Robles grantee. As a producer, he has helped global brands reach their goals and has led commissioned video projects for non-profits both in Mexico and abroad.
He’s a Polaroid enthusiast and a relentless admirer of the art of music videos, the first medium he developed a passion for. In his free time, he enjoys working out, hanging out with his boyfriend and his dog, and ocasionally playing the piano. Fights scrolling through Duolingo, and existential angst through a stubborn hope in social change. His most recent exploratory effort yielded a watercolor orchid he painted at a friend’s workshop.
